The Following Documents shall be enclosed along with the CPT Registration Form
- Demand Draft for the whole amount drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India”
- Attested Copy of Class X Pass Certificate
- Attested Copy of Class XII Pass Certificate
The Entrance Level Exam of the CA Curriculum i.e. CPT Consists of 4 Multiple Choice Papers which are divided into 2 Sections of 2 Papers each as shown below
Eligibility for CA CPT Registration:
To be eligible to appear for CPT Exams, a student should have cleared/appeared for Class XII Exams. Even the Result of Class XII is pending then the students can apply for provisional registration and such students would have to furnish an attested copy of their 12th exam admit card/receipt card with registration form. And student will have to furnish the attested copy of the passing certificate and result-sheet with ICAI on clearing the Class XII Exams.
There is no condition regarding the minimum marks that should be scored in Class XII Exams and everyone who has cleared the same is eligible to apply for CPT Exams.
A registered student may appear in Common Proficiency Test after he has appeared in the Senior Secondary Examination* (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India (or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto) and has complied with such requirements as may be specified by the Council from time to time.
A student who has got himself registered for Common Proficiency Test 60 days prior to the first day of the month in which CPT examination is to be held i.e. on or before 1st April and 1st October, can appear in the CPT examination to be held in June and December respectively. Common Proficiency Test examinations are held in June & December every year.
CPT Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and to be eligible to appear for CPT Exam, a student should have registered 2 months prior to the month in which the Exam is scheduled to be held. So if student wants to appear for June exams then a student should have applied for registration before 1st April and for December CPT exams a student should have applied for registration before 1st October.

Please Note: The Notification regarding CPT Exemption for Graduates is Approved by Government and therefore the graduated students having required percentage do not need to appear for CPT to enroll themselves for CA Curriculum
